Laminate Flooring

Laminate Flooring is made from a series of synthetic layers to create a strong and versatile flooring product. It starts with a backing layer that is often made from a melamine and fibre board. Then a specialist photographic layer is applied to the surface to simulate the look of a real wood floor or tile. With the latest in laminate technology it is now possible to print 3D surfaces that allows your laminate floor to feel more authentic than ever. To protect your floor a clear coat is then applied to the top surface to withstand day-to-day wear and tear.

Engineered Flooring

Engineered Flooring is constructed from several layers of wood fused together. The core is made from layers of HDF, plywood or softwood running in different directions to increase overall stability of the floor. The top layer often called the 'Wear Layer' in an engineered board is always made from a veneer of solid wood between 2-6mm in thickness. Because this top layer is made from a solid wood veneer, it has the overall visual characteristics of a solid floor. Engineered floors are also simple to install thanks to a selection of T&G or LOC fixing systems available.
